Primary Care Medical Director - Chicopee, MA

About the role
We are seeking an experienced physician to join our employed physician team as Medical Director of Primary Care in Chicopee, MA. This role involves serving as the clinical leader of an established community primary care practice while remaining clinically active and connected to patients. You will have dedicated protected leadership time to support practice leadership, team development, quality improvement, access, and operational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Mentor physicians and APPs while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered practice culture.
- Partner with practice and system leaders to advance patient safety, patient experience, provider engagement, access, and operational excellence.
- Support practice growth through physician and APP recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and retention.
- Champion evidence-based care, consistent clinical standards, team-based care, continuous improvement, and collaboration across Baystate Health.
- Teaching and academic opportunities may be available based on interest and qualifications.
Qualifications
- MD or DO; board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Eligible for unrestricted Massachusetts medical licensure.
- Committed to high-quality outpatient primary care and an excellent patient experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Interest or experience in physician leadership, quality improvement, or practice transformation.
- Previous Medical Director experience is welcomed, but physicians ready to take the next step in their leadership career are encouraged to apply.

Pay
Compensation ranges represent base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience. Salary range: $247,300–$346,120.
