Position Details

Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Norman Porter
Full-Time; 40 hours/week, M-F 8am-5pm
Accepting applications for MA, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic!

Responsibilities

  • Completes Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation;
  • Working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams;
  • Rechecking elevated blood pressures;
  • Completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed;
  • Auxiliary in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG’s, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing;
  • Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice;
  • Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy;
  • Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant: Education: High School Diploma or GED.
    Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
    Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
    Certified Medical Assistant: Education: High School Diploma or GED.
    Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • LPN: Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
    Licensure: Active LPN or RN.
    Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in a primary care office.

Pay

Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

40 hours/week, M-F 8am-5pm.
