Pricing & Risk Analyst
About the role
Kin makes life simpler, more affordable, and better for homeowners — especially in places where climate risks, rising costs, and outdated systems make it harder. Founded in 2016, Kin is a remote‑first employer with team members across more than 35 states and serves customers in 14 states (and counting). The company has earned recognitions such as Built In Chicago's Best Places to Work (2021‑2026), Forbes' America's Best Startup Employers (2026), Inc. 5000 Fastest‑Growing Private Companies, Forbes’ Fintech 50 (2023‑2026), and Great Places to Work Certified (May 2024‑May 2027). Kin is looking for a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help find profitable growth opportunities state by state and segment by segment. The role sits on the Pricing and Risk Management team, focusing on state growth and segmentation, working with state managers and business partners to turn policy, quote, and claims data into practical recommendations. It is an entry‑level role for someone curious and detail‑oriented who wants to learn how analytics shape real pricing and risk decisions, using Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and approved MCP connections to explore data, automate work, and focus on the questions that matter.
Kin is a remote‑first company with offices in Chicago, IL and St. Petersburg, FL. For this role, you must be able to live and work full‑time in one of the following 41 states: AL, AR, AZ, CA (exempt only), CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, and WI.
Kinfolk bring diverse perspectives but are united by a shared set of values: run through walls together, high performance with low drama, always respectful, act like an owner, operate lean, and keep asking “What if?” — using curiosity, experimentation, and data‑driven decisions to continuously improve.
