Position Objective
To assist customers in their shopping experience by ensuring all store products are clearly marked with accurate prices and all price changes are made in a smooth, timely manner.
Reporting & Status
This position formally reports to the Pricing Manager and is non-exempt.
Knowledge
- Essential: Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite and 10-key is required. Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino's Learning Plan.
- Non-Essential: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Skills & Essential Job Functions
- Knows and implements the Cosentino's Customer Service Standards.
- Verify merchandise price file against shelf price tags to ensure accuracy.
- Know how to operate all pricing and scanning equipment properly.
- Ensure all signs are clear and placed properly according to sign standards to avoid confusion with our customers.
- Proofread all store ads and signage for accuracy.
- Comply with government rules regarding food stamp & WIC purchases.
- Comply with weights & measure regulations.
- Know, comply with, and encourage other team members to comply with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures for your department and your store.
- Able to operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards to produce desired team and individual results.
- Demonstrates the strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions.
- Demonstrates the basic math and reading skills required for the position.
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Communicate any problems with pricing, pricing changes, or signage issues to the store management team and corporate office in a timely, professional manner.
- Assist the Pricing Coordinators in passing store audits and achieving minimum scores set by corporate directors.
- Knows the store's products, procedures and policies and can accurately and courteously answer vendor and customer questions.
- Support your company by completing additional tasks identified by management, assisting other stores or departments as needed and gaining new skills when necessary.
Physical Abilities
Essential Abilities:
- Reaching overhead with both arms and twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 10lbs.
- Pushing and pulling grocery items to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 5lbs.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 30lbs., to a height of 36 inches.
- Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
Non-Essential Abilities:
- Climbing a ladder, possibly up to 5ft.
