About the role

Cosentinos Price Chopper #104 is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Bakery Clerk to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is crucial in ensuring our bakery department operates smoothly, offering high-quality products and exceptional service to our valued customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to Food Safety and Sanitation, a keen eye for Quality Control, and excellent Customer Service skills. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, assisting customers, and supporting daily bakery operations. Availability between 8 AM and 7 PM, including weekends, is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding Customer Service, greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their bakery needs.
• Maintain impeccable Cleanliness and Sanitation standards throughout the bakery department, adhering to Food Safety and Sanitation guidelines.
• Perform Quality Control checks on all bakery products, ensuring freshness, proper appearance, and adherence to standards.
• Assist with Packaging and Labeling of bakery items accurately and attractively.
• Support Inventory Management by monitoring stock levels, rotating products, and reporting low stock.
• Operate and maintain bakery Machinery safely and efficiently, including ovens and mixers.
• Demonstrate Multitasking abilities by managing various tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding product availability, customer feedback, and operational needs.
• Assist with Sales by suggesting products and upselling where appropriate.
• Maintain a high level of Detail Oriented focus in all tasks, from product presentation to order accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent Customer Service.
• Working knowledge of Food Safety and Sanitation principles and practices.
• Ability to maintain high standards of Cleanliness and Sanitation.
• Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven Multitasking capabilities in a dynamic setting.
• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring Lifting Ability up to 25 pounds.
• A Detail Oriented approach to tasks and responsibilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and between 8 AM and 7 PM.
• Proficiency in the English Language.
• General knowledge of Quality Control in a food service environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bakery or food service setting.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Experience with Packaging and Labeling of food products.
• Basic understanding of Inventory Management.
• Demonstrated Self-Motivation and a proactive work ethic.
• Experience with Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) in a retail or food service context.
• Working knowledge of Restaurant Operation principles.
• Experience with Fermentation processes in baking.
• Ability to operate bakery Machinery with a high degree of proficiency.
• Experience in Sales within a retail environment.
