About the role

Assist customers in examining items during preview days and special events, and call Appraisers/Specialists as required. Additional duties may include assisting with merchandise pick-up following an auction and supporting various departments with auction-related administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Preview
  • Assist clients viewing auction items inside and outside of display cases.
  • Answer general non-technical questions (sale dates, times, etc.).
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Call specialists as needed for technical information and/or specific inquiries on property.
  • Assist in preventing theft by following security procedures.
• Delivery and Pick Up
  • Deliver lots to customers as indicated on collection slip; obtain signatures; file collection slips appropriately.
  • Answer general questions.
  • Assist in preventing theft by following security procedures.
• Special Projects
  • Assist in general department administration where necessary.
  • Unpack and pack boxes.
  • Help set up sales.
  • Polish silver.
  • Call department lists to remind customers of upcoming previews.

In addition to the tasks and responsibilities listed, you may be required to perform other duties as assigned by your manager.

• Fluency in English necessary.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to accurately follow detailed instructions.
• Must be multi-functional and able to shift priorities quickly and easily.
