Preventive Maintenance Technician

About the role

Bloom Energy is seeking a highly motivated Preventive Maintenance Technician (PMT) to join the Service Team. In this role, you will perform system maintenance and inspections on Bloom Energy fuel cell systems while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fuel cell systems
• Use standard PM work practices with tools such as an IR camera and gas leak detector
• Maintain a service vehicle
• Use and maintain standard operating programs and applications on digital devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets)
• Maintain spare part and tool inventories
• Work with customers to access facilities
• Document and report on work performed using standard company computer programs
• Dispatch from an area within the given service territory, supporting Field Service operations
• Travel within the Northeast Region to perform duties

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working on machinery, engines, appliances, or electrical equipment and/or active or reserve military duty
• Basic understanding of working safely, especially with electricity and in construction/industrial environments
• Team player with a high degree of integrity and professionalism
• Motivated and able to work independently
• Capable of following procedures as written
• Demonstrates self-initiative and sound judgment
• Basic electrical/mechanical aptitude
• Highly motivated and able to work independently
• Able to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) to facilitate duties
• Ability to work with typical mechanical hand tools and equipment
• Communicates clearly in a technical capacity, both written and verbal
• Able to navigate the basic use of a laptop
• Preferred experience driving a large van or truck
• Clean driving record required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 45-50 lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Ability to work at heights greater than 15 ft, including ascending/descending ladders and elevated platforms
• Ability to stand, bend, push, and pull consistently on a daily basis

Pay

Salary range: $24.37 - $35.07 per hour
