Preventative Maintenance Technician

Job Location: Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE — one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology, employing around 600 people in the Columbus area.

About the role

The Preventative Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in completing on-time PMs utilizing our maintenance program. This position will work with production to coordinate downtime to complete PMs, proactively address, and mitigate equipment breakdowns. You will collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and PM Planner to review and develop robust and effective PMs.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance tasks including lubrication, calibration, cleaning, and work with maintenance technicians on the replacement of parts when identified as faulty.
• Make accurate inputs of repair actions into the maintenance program via keyboard entry as they occur.
• Receive and prioritize machine PM actions for assigned area.
• Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform PMs.
• Utilize the maintenance system to document work done for the PM.
• Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts to complete assigned PMs.
• Utilize the clock in/out system accurately per company policy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of PM maintenance technician experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.
• Ability to find, locate, and read blueprints and schematics as needed.
• Ability to quickly diagnose equipment malfunctions and return equipment to operational condition.
• Ability to perform adequate manipulation and display the manual dexterity required to operate all tools needed to affect proper repair actions.
• Ability to perform all bending, twisting, and reaching motions to manipulate a load of at least 30 lbs.
• Must be capable of using all personal protective equipment required to perform maintenance tasks.
• Must use all standard electrical and machine safety practices recommended by OSHA.

Schedule

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Overtime is available as needed.
