Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with mechanical knowledge and customer service skills to join our team as a Preventative Maintenance Tech in the field.

About the role

PM Field Service Mechanics perform routine maintenance on various types of customer and company-owned material handling equipment within a designated territory. You will perform preventative maintenance tasks on various types of construction equipment in the field to prolong its lifespan.

Continuously communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and co-workers including Salespeople, Coordinators, and Managers regarding job progress and general updates. Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies, and rules, both on-site and during the operation of company vehicles.

Strong mechanical aptitude, strong customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and a safety-first mentality are all key.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on various types of construction equipment in the field
  • Maintain communication with customers and co-workers regarding job progress and updates
  • Observe all safety laws, policies, and rules

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months to 1-year hands-on experience as a service technician/mechanic in the material handling equipment industry, or mechanical training/education, or experience in a related industry
  • Own complete line of tools including specialized tools needed to complete the job at the customer site
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Skills

  • Technical aptitude/experience in hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with equipment operation
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Demands / Environmental Conditions

  • Work in operating facilities and outdoors, traveling to customer locations
  • Encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • Frequently work on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required
  • Lift 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds)
  • Push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting
  • Handling/fingering on a daily basis
  • Driving a van/truck to and from customer locations
  • Wear safety glasses and safety shoes

This position is deemed a Safety Sensitive job for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, and the Louisiana Therapeutic Marijuana Act.
