About the role

As a member of the Amcor team, you will operate and maintain printing presses to ensure high production rates with minimal scrap while upholding safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up presses to attain production rates with minimal scrap.
  • Supply and stir ink wells as necessary.
  • Monitor and ensure print quality.
  • Wash print blankets and plates as needed.
  • Clean and prepare color heads not in use for the next production run.
  • Organize work area and prepare for the next job setup.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly section.
  • Clean printing plates after each use and return them to the proper location for Graphic Arts.
  • Complete job tracking forms in the plate job jacket.
  • Monitor the production schedule for special instructions.
  • Clean ink bowls and return them to the proper location.
  • Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and health requirements.
  • Perform plate and size changes on printing machines.
  • Match colors using ColorCert, Chroma QA, and Pantone color book.
  • Complete required documentation, including:
    • Printing Tech Daily Quality Audit (EVV FCD-00493)
    • Trend Board Check Sheet (EVV FCD-00484)
    • First Piece Inspection (EVV FCD-00482) for every work order
    • WEBEFF paperwork
  • Assign duties to operators on machines if necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prior printing experience with good mechanical ability.
  • Taking necessary steps to become a certified ThermoPrinting Pressman.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders or steps.
  • Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours during an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment.
  • Visual acuity of at least 20/40 corrected vision for distance and a minimum near vision ability to read 7-point font at 12 inches.
  • Ability to reach and lift overhead.
