General Responsibilities

The Mounter is directed daily by the Press Supervisor. Prepares sleeves for installation in flexographic printing presses and is responsible for quality/productivity associated with materials processed through assigned machinery.

  • Notifies management whenever equipment is found to be malfunctioning, damaged, or in need of repair.
  • Maintains production and quality standards as set forth by supervision.
  • Organizes workflow for smooth operation.
  • Makes necessary adjustments and monitors equipment so that product complies with work order.
  • Lifts and places printing sleeves of specified size on mounter-proofing machine.
  • Measures and sets cameras used as guides for alignment of printing plates.
  • Applies cushion backing to sleeve to prep for plate mounting.
  • Maneuvers plate on sleeve for proper position according to job specifications.
  • Checks plates versus supplied proofs to verify accuracy.
  • Strips used sleeves, cleans, and files.
  • Records meters run for wear tracking.

  • FACILITY: Prepares sleeves for installation in flexographic printing presses. Responsible for mounting photopolymer plates onto sleeves and proofing.
  • OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS: Must have good speaking skills. Read, write, and understand English. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and employees.
  • HEALTH AND SAFETY: Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with American Fuji Seal’s guidelines. Visually inspects the facility for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards, and helps maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma equivalent.
  • Demonstrated insight into mechanical and process analysis.
  • Must be able to see and compare colors.
  • Must be able to see small graphic details.
  • Communicates in both verbal and written matters.
  • Able to work overtime and any schedule that management deems necessary to maintain production.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Industrial Technology or related field (preferred).
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of plastic films (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of solvent base and water base inks (preferred).

Physical Demands

  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling are required.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing computer and working within arm’s reach.
  • Subject to hazards: proximity to moving forklift and stored chemicals.
