Press Pack Operator

We are hiring two employees for the first shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) and two additional employees for the second shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM). Training for all positions will take place during the first shift. Once training is complete, employees hired for the second shift will transition to their regular second-shift schedule.

About the Role

Safely and efficiently pack stamped parts, ensuring only quality components are packed off the press line. The primary focus is on safety, quality, and efficient production techniques using Array's standards and procedures. Maintain a continuous improvement attitude with a willingness to adopt new ideas and skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize 5-S standards: keep station clean and orderly.
• Pack stampings in designated containers with the correct quantity.
• Assist in changeover and setup of stamping dies and presses.
• Perform visual audit inspections of parts for quality before packing.
• Ensure correct parts are being packed.
• Follow containment procedures in the event of contaminated product.
• Handle production tagging/labeling to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Escalate problems according to the escalation procedure.
• Assist in coil changes.
• Report all quality, production, or safety problems to the production supervisor.
• Maintain 5-S standards in area of responsibility.
• Assist in performing preventive maintenance activities as required.
• Write and follow up on work orders for repairs in assigned area.
• Suggest methods of improvement (e.g., Continuous Improvement Plan & Performance Award Program).
• Operate cranes to assist in coil changes.
• Operate forklifts for material handling as necessary.
• Be available for overtime as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (minimum).
• Prefer 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated basic math skills.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Assist in conducting basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required.
• Ability to use measurement instruments: calipers, micrometers, gauging, etc.
• Accountable, teachable, and approachable.
• Ability to learn, make decisions, and be creative and flexible.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds.

Physical Demands

• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to 37 inches high.
• Vertical lift: Ability to lift up to 42 lbs. to 52 inches high.
• Carry: Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet.
• Work environment is fast-paced; noise and temperature levels can vary.

Safety

• If your role requires steel-toed boots, the company will reimburse $125 per pair every year.
• If your role requires prescription safety glasses, the company will reimburse $200 every two years.
• Ear protection, hard hats, and standard non-prescription safety glasses are provided by the company.
• Ensure the use of safety blocks.
• Follow all safety rules and the lockout/tagout procedure.
• Keep all safety curtains/guards in place during operation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
