About the role

Mill Rock Packaging (MRP) is a U.S.-based packaging company that designs, engineers, and produces high-end, sustainable, and customized graphic paperboard, folding cartons, and commercial printing products. Serving various industries such as consumer staples, food and beverage, technology, pharmaceuticals, health, and beauty, MRP is seeking a passionate and agile Press Operator.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the Press machine at the beginning of the shift and perform all related tasks including pulling the job from the schedule, mounting printing plates, installing ink rollers as required.
  • Review job orders to set up or adjust the printing machine.
  • Direct the Press Feeder or Press Assistant on their responsibilities.
  • Perform quality checks in full compliance with all requirements of the quality system.
  • Perform routine maintenance including machine cleaning, roller maintenance (removing, cleaning and reinstalling), and preventative maintenance inspections of press.
  • Communicate with office and production personnel to clarify job information, as required.
  • Prepare press for change of shift or shutdown; performing all related tasks.

Requirements

  • Lead the press team, on your designated press, with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Possess an ability to work as a team with the Press Assistant and embrace how your job impacts the whole team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to accept feedback and use it to grow in your position.
  • Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn basic skills.
  • Must demonstrate some experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Fulfill the following training and testing requirements: Load Turner Operation (test with passing score required); Motorized Hand Truck Operation (test with passing score required); Press Operation; Quality System Orientation.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience running a press machine KBA preferred.
  • GED or High School Equivalent.

Skills

  • Basic computer skills or the ability to learn basic skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Training and testing in Load Turner Operation, Motorized Hand Truck Operation, Press Operation, and Quality System Orientation.
