About the role
Join Sealed Air as a Press Operator in our St Joseph, MO facility and become part of a global leader in packaging solutions. In this role, you'll operate flexographic printing equipment to produce high-quality packaging materials while maintaining safety standards and production efficiency. This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to typical production equipment and materials. The role requires working rotating shifts to support 24/7 operations. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is provided and required.
Responsibilities
- Operate flexographic printing presses and related equipment to produce high-quality packaging materials
- Set up, adjust, and maintain printing equipment according to job specifications
- Monitor print quality and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent output
- Perform quality checks and maintain detailed production records
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Mechanical and manufacturing experience is desired
- 1-3 years of experience operating flexographic printing equipment preferred, but not required
- Technical certification in printing technology or a related field is a plus
- Knowledge of color management and print quality standards
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical documentation
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S methodology
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to pass a hue and color vision assessment
- Able to work independently and instruct others as necessary
- Able to follow instructions and make decisions based on data obtained
- Computer knowledge: Word, Excel, SAP, and others
Safety Requirements
- Participate in safety observations
- Wear all required PPE and PFS: beard/hair net, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes
- Perform all duties using safe work methods
- Attend and participate in monthly safety training
- Comply with all established site and department safety rules and policies
- Report unsafe conditions, all accidents and near misses immediately to the shift supervisor or his/her designate
Pay
$20.00/hr (Negotiable depending on experience) plus a $1.00 shift premium
Schedule
Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 2/2/3 schedule
