Press Operator
About the role
Winpak Control Group Inc. is seeking a Press Operator to join our Printing Department based out of Norwood, New Jersey. In this role, you will operate and maintain flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials that meet customer specifications. You’ll ensure consistent color, registration, and print quality while maintaining adherence to safety, cGMP, and production standards. Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust press equipment to meet quality and production goals.
- Read and interpret job spec sheets to ensure proper materials, inks, and tooling are used.
- Perform setup, color matching, register adjustments, and ink viscosity checks.
- Conduct in-process quality inspections for color consistency, print registration, and adhesion.
- Troubleshoot and correct printing, mechanical, or web handling issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, GMP, and housekeeping standards.
- Train, guide, and communicate effectively with press crew members and supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience operating a printing press in a manufacturing environment (flexographic preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret production specifications and perform basic math and metric conversions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Nilpeter or comparable multi-color printing presses.
- Knowledge of anilox rolls, ink systems, and solvent blends.
- Familiarity with cGMP and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Prior experience in flexible packaging or film manufacturing.
- Leadership or press crew training experience.
Pay
Wage Range: $32–$37/hour
Schedule
Full-time position. Shift: First Shift (Monday – Friday) - 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. This position is 100% onsite in Norwood, NJ.
