Press Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor an extrusion press, setting new run practices and checking the quality of extrusion according to ISO standards.
• Visually inspect metal for defects.
• Coordinate information through the Epic system and communicate with supervision, press operators, saw operators, and maintenance regarding order completion and operational or equipment issues.
• Perform etch testing safely and efficiently.
• Operate all press equipment safely and efficiently.
• Apply established ISO 9001 procedures accurately in support of the quality program.
• Maintain proper marking and identification of materials.
• Establish and set new run practices for new extruded shapes.
• Monitor quench rates and quality checks according to established ISO procedures.
• Perform quality assurance activities to ensure material acceptability.
• React quickly to any malfunctions and perform all functions associated with all extrusion press equipment.
• Work overtime as required to meet production demands and deadlines.
