Press Operator Assistant

About the role

Assist a team of press operators to ensure quick and efficient make-readies for multicolor flexographic printing press. Assist with the setup, repair, and maintenance of the press.

Responsibilities

• Review job ticket and select the proper type and quantity of material.
• Assist in material change-overs.
• Ensure correct material is present and organized for production runs.
• Clean and maintain press equipment along with general common areas.
• Move loads of printed and unprinted stock when necessary.
• Assist the press operator with preventative maintenance of the press.
• Follow established standard operating procedures.
• Complete required documentation.
• Assemble print cylinders and gears.
• Perform and review line clearance.
• Remove waste from the press area.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic personal computer skills (email, word processing, etc.).
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
• Ability to pass basic reading test.
• Ability to read and comprehend measurements on a ruler.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to maintain good attendance.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
• Ability to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
