We are searching for an experienced Press Operator Assistant at our Feasterville facility.
Responsibilities
- Mount flexographic printing plates accurately according to job specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Prepare upcoming print jobs by reviewing job tickets, artwork, print cylinders, sleeves, anilox rolls, inks, and required tooling.
- Verify all production materials are available prior to job setup.
- Assist the press operator during press make-ready, changeovers, and production runs.
- Clean, inspect, and organize printing plates, sleeves, cylinders, anilox rolls, and related equipment.
- Ensure plates are mounted correctly for proper registration and print quality.
- Assist with ink preparation, viscosity checks, pH adjustments, and ink management as required.
- Support troubleshooting efforts related to print quality, registration, color consistency, and press performance.
- Perform housekeeping activities in accordance with 5S and GMP requirements.
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and communicate issues to the Press Operator and Supervisor.
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities and equipment cleaning.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, Planning, Quality, and Prepress departments to ensure on-time production.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Previous experience working as a production helper, machine assistant, or operator assistant in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read work orders, job tickets, and production documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in flexographic printing, flexible packaging, labels, or medical packaging.
- Experience mounting flexographic printing plates.
- Familiarity with print job preparation, including sleeves, cylinders, anilox rolls, inks, and press tooling.
- Knowledge of flexographic printing terminology and processes.
- Understanding of color control, print registration, and print quality inspection.
- Experience working in a GMP, ISO, FDA, or clean manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification (or ability to become certified).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple jobs while maintaining quality and productivity.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting ability.
- Basic understanding of flexographic press setup.
- Ability to identify print defects and quality concerns.
- Experience with plate handling and storage procedures.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Willingness to cross-train and develop into a Flexographic Press Operator.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, bend, reach, and walk throughout the shift.
- Work around moving machinery while following all required PPE and safety procedures.
- Ability to distinguish colors and identify print quality variations.

Pay
Hourly $23.00 - $25.00
