About the role
Toledo Tool & Die is adding Press Operators to our team to support our continued growth. This is a full-time position based in Pioneer, Ohio. We offer a clean, safe work environment and opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
- Start machines, monitor their operation to ensure proper processing, and record operational data for material tracking and production documentation.
- Operate or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal material.
- Load work pieces into machines.
- Examine and inspect completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
- Read production schedules to determine specifications, including materials, dimensions, and tolerances compliant with customer requirements.
- Verify and document dimensions of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, dial indicators).
- Assist in completing simple to intermediate tasks associated with coil and die changes.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may include tasks outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment screening (background check and drug screen).
- Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends, and holidays).
- Experience operating large industrial equipment is preferred.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Must report to work on time to support production startup.
- Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, basic math skills, and physical dexterity.
Pay
Starting pay of $17.00/hour with weekly pay.
Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00am–2:00pm. Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends, and some holidays).
