About the Role
KMS, a sheet metal fabrication facility, is seeking reliable, experienced candidates to set up, program, and operate hydraulic press brakes to bend sheet metal according to drawing specifications.
Responsibilities
- Complete machine set-up and operation of assigned jobs from work instructions and blueprints.
- Perform first-piece and incremental inspections, including second-person verification on set-up pieces.
- Complete quality check sheets for each job.
- Maintain a safety-first mentality in all duties.
- Perform daily operator maintenance of machines and tooling as required.
- Follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Arrive on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or sit (stationary position).
- Walk (move, traverse).
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (position self, move).
- Use hands/fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position).
- Talk/hear (communicate, detect, converse, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information).
- See (detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, assess).
- Push or pull, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Requirements
- Previous experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Read and comprehend production schedules, work instructions, blueprints, and routers for the job.
- Strong knowledge of measuring devices such as protractors, calipers, height gauges, etc.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Take pride in work and maintain a clean work area.
