General Purpose
Aid a team of press operators to ensure quick and efficient make-readies for multicolor flexographic printing presses. Assist with the setup, repair, operation, and maintenance of the press.
Essential Job Functions
- Set up, adjust, maintain, and operate a flexographic press in the absence of an operator.
- Review job tickets and select the proper type and quantity of material.
- Absorb material changeovers.
- Ensure correct materials are present and organized for production runs.
- Clean, lubricate, and make minor adjustments to maintain the quality of production.
- Clean and maintain press equipment (pans, pumps, anilox rolls, etc.), along with general common areas.
- Remove and mount plates when needed.
- Replenish inks and other raw materials as needed.
- Notify supervisors of needed repairs or replacement parts.
- Move loads of printed and unprinted stock when necessary.
- Assist the press operator with preventative maintenance of the press.
- Assist with other printing processes as needed and as directed by supervision.
- Comply with established safety procedures and policies.
- Follow established standard operating procedures.
- Complete required documentation.
- Assemble print cylinders and gears.
- Perform and review line clearance.
- Remove waste from the press area.
- Work with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Basic computer skills.
- The ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- The ability to maintain good attendance.
- The willingness to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
- The ability to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
