About the role
Join our team as a Press Assistant I and become a vital part of our production team. This is an entry-level role designed to give you the skills and experience you need to grow in our Pressroom department.
Responsibilities
- Stocking press products on pallets.
- Remove printed materials from the press, stack bundles onto pallet, and move loads to the staging area.
- Auxiliary in press duties such as webbing up the press, changing ink, hanging plates, changing, and cleaning blankets, and cleaning up ink, oil, or water spills.
- Maintain good housekeeping in press area.
- Mount blankets, plates, and rolls.
- Maintain daily supply of rags and chemicals, ensuring sponge buckets remain clean.
- Auxiliary in quality checks of printed materials.
- Maintain a positive customer relations approach towards visitors, customers, and employees.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain a wide variety of printing equipment.
- Demonstrated experience working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use and read a ruler and perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to read, write and communicate.
- High School Diploma.
Physical Demands
- Frequent use of hands to type, finger, handle, grasp or touch objects and tools.
- Frequently standing and walking, occasionally climbing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, reaching.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay
This role offers a clear path for advancement, starting at a competitive $17.00 per hour with regularly scheduled increases to $20.90 per hour as you gain experience.
Schedule
Day shift hours are 6 AM-6 PM (3 to 4 days per week).
