Press Assistant
Your purpose
As a Press Assistant, you will assist the Press Operator in setting up and running of an 8 or 10 color Flexographic Printing press.
Essential Functions
- Aid in setting up 8 or 10 color Flexographic Printing press.
- Load and unload rolls on machine, must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Load and unload print sleeves and anilox.
- Check ink viscosity and clean print station and ink pumps.
- Assemble and adjust doctor blade chamber.
- Able to take direction and follow Press Operator needs.
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness to keep machine operable.
- Ability to maintain housekeeping for the press and workstation.
- Responsible for condition of machine and work area.
- Clean plates & anilox.
- Work safely at all times.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate-controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights.
Physical Demands
- Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
- Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) standing and walking.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
- Good eyesight, normal hearing.
- Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 75 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position on rotating 12-hour shifts (daytime shifts 6am-6pm; night-time shifts 6pm-6am). Days, nights, and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and production requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business.
Travel
Travel is not required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- A High School diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- Capable of multi-tasking the operation of production.

Pay Range
The pay range for this role is: 24 - 27 USD per hour (Minnesota)
