Position Details

This is a union role (union membership after a 60‑day probationary period). The 2nd Pressman works up to 12‑hour shifts Monday‑Friday and 8‑hour shifts on Saturdays, with the ability to work alternate schedules, overtime, early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the 1st Pressman by making color or register corrections and press adjustments before production runs to meet quality specifications.
• Operate the press in the absence of the 1st Pressman, fulfilling all duties of the 1st Pressman as needed.
• Read and follow job specifications to determine required press set‑up materials.
• Adjust press machine parts (feeder, delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, cams) using hand tools.
• Remove and replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressure using hand tools.
• Wash blankets and clean ink‑related components (ink rollers, ink fountains) with solvent and cleaning mechanisms.
• Assist in press maintenance.
• Guide temporary employees on task assignments while reinforcing SQF standards and GPI’s core values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and orderly building, support plant‑wide painting schedules, and assist with SQF audits.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Excellent attendance and ability to work independently.
• Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
