Job Responsibilities
- Aid in composing correspondence with both internal and external audiences.
- Support the president in preparing presidential communications using Microsoft Word and other database programs.
- Input information into appropriate databases and maintain office files.
- Assist with coordinating special events, including on and off-campus events, and provide support for any access needs to the president’s residence.
- Provide backup support for designated members of the senior leadership team with purchasing, expense reports, coordinating and booking travel, scheduling meetings, proofing, editing, and creating informational documents.
- Coordinate and serve as support for in-house Senior Leadership position searches.
- Provide main technical support for phone, computer, and telecommunication equipment used in the board meetings, president’s office, and workroom.
- Assist with both hardware and software issues as needed.
Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required, along with a good driving record and insurability by the College’s insurance carrier.
- Three years of office administration experience are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required; proficiency with database maintenance and reporting is preferred; proficiency with spreadsheet and database applications is required; proficiency with various hardware and software systems is required.
- Strong writing and communication skills are required.
- The ability to work effectively, collaboratively, confidentially, and efficiently with students, faculty, staff, trustees, community partners, and alumni is required.
- A demonstrated ability to organize numerous projects, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, exercise professional judgment, and solve problems is required.
- Experience in a college setting, especially in an administrative office and with an integrated board management software system, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Workday software is preferred.
This position serves as the main technical support for the president’s office and assists with board of trustee meetings, annual college events, and special events as needed. The selected candidate may elect to work a 10-month or 12-month schedule. Both 10-month and 12-month schedules are available with commensurate compensation.
