About the role
The President is the Association’s chief executive officer and provides strategic leadership, advocacy, and operational oversight in support of Ohio’s highway construction industry. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Columbus, Ohio.

The Ohio Contractors Association (OCA) is the leading trade association representing Ohio’s heavy/highway and utility construction industry. Founded in 1918, OCA serves as the unified voice for hundreds of member companies engaged in building and maintaining Ohio’s vital infrastructure — including highways, bridges, utilities, and related public works projects. Headquartered in Columbus, OCA advocates for sound public policy, promotes workplace safety, advances workforce development, and fosters collaboration among contractors, suppliers, engineers, and public owners. OCA is a respected partner with the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Ohio Legislature, and numerous state and local agencies, ensuring that the voice of the construction industry is heard in shaping Ohio’s infrastructure future. OCA operates through a strong statewide network of local chapters, a dedicated professional staff, and the active engagement of volunteer leaders.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the association.
- Serve as the chief advocate for Ohio’s highway construction industry.
- Oversee operational functions of the association.
- Foster collaboration among contractors, suppliers, engineers, and public owners.
- Engage with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Legislature, and other state/local agencies.
- Promote workplace safety and workforce development initiatives.
Requirements
- 4 Year Degree required.
- Extensive experience in executive leadership, preferably within the construction or infrastructure industry.
- Strong background in advocacy, public policy, or association management.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a professional team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
