About The Opportunity
Our client, a leader in the affordable housing sector, is looking for a skilled President to join their team. This project involves providing overarching strategic and operational leadership for their comprehensive affordable housing portfolio, ensuring efficient business operations, resource management, and long-term fiscal stability. This is a high-impact executive role that requires a self-motivated professional who can lead the organization’s fiscal spending and strategic direction while delivering compassionate and equitable services to residents.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Operations Leadership: Direct the Property Management department to ensure peak operational and physical performance across all portfolios, including day-to-day building operations, complex lease-ups, and building budgets.
- Regulatory Compliance: Lead the Compliance department to maintain regulatory excellence and serve as the primary executive liaison to housing agencies, ensuring full compliance and accurate reporting.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the Accounting department to guarantee corporate accounting standards, bookkeeping, strict adherence to internal decision-making matrices, and timely submission of financial reports to agency partners.
- Administration & HR: Guide Human Resources and Administration departments to drive training programs, equitable compensation strategies, and the safeguarding of corporate operations.
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate collaborative relationships with non-profit organizations, community stakeholders, and housing advocates to advance the supportive housing mission.
- Client Management Systems: Lead the negotiation and strategic structuring of property management agreements and drive the optimization of back-end client management systems to enhance communication and transparency.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of increasing responsibility in property management, real estate operations, or property administration, with a heavy emphasis on affordable housing portfolios.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Management, Property Management, or a related discipline. A Graduate Degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse populations and staff, and deep knowledge of local tenant protection ordinances.
- Proven track record of direct collaboration and compliance reporting with San Francisco housing agencies (e.g., MOHCD, SFHA, HSH).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously to manage corporate transitions and scale operations.
