Preservice Scheduling Specialist

About the role

Remote position responsible for pre-registration, scheduling, electronically verifying insurance eligibility, and accurately identifying and collecting patient financial responsibility. Handles complex scheduled events, including high dollar testing, associated studies, and those with study specific instructions, and communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service. Begins the overall patient experience and initiates the billing process for any services provided by the hospital.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday 9:30am–6:00pm EST; Friday 8:30am–5:00pm EST. Day shift.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) to five (5) years experience in area of expertise such as scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access
• National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
• Proficient in the use of Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software systems
