About the role
The role involves managing and preserving historical documents and artifacts, working closely with a team of conservators and curators.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preservation and restoration of historical documents and artifacts
- Collaborate with curators and other staff to ensure the collection is accessible and secure
- Develop and implement conservation strategies for the preservation of collections
- Conduct research on preservation techniques and materials
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in conservation, history, art history, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in museum or archival settings
- Knowledge of conservation practices and materials
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience with digital imaging and cataloging systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of preservation standards and guidelines
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
