About the role

The City of Prescott is seeking a CAD/RMS Administrator to oversee the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS) for the Police and Fire Departments. This position ensures the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of these critical public safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the CAD and RMS software, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for system-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
• Coordinate with vendors, public safety personnel, and IT staff to implement system updates, patches, and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including user guides, policies, and procedures.
• Provide training and support to end-users on CAD/RMS functionality and best practices.
• Monitor system performance, generate reports, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and data security protocols.
• Manage system integrations with other public safety and city applications (e.g., mobile data terminals, reporting tools).
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing for CAD/RMS systems.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Safety Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience administering CAD, RMS, or similar public safety software systems.
• Experience with Tyler Technologies’ New World CAD/RMS or similar platforms strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of public safety operations, including dispatch and records management workflows.
• Proficiency in database management, system integrations, and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to train and support diverse user groups.
• Ability to work collaboratively with IT staff, public safety personnel, and external vendors.
• Familiarity with data security practices and compliance requirements (e.g., CJIS, HIPAA).
