About the role

The Airport Operations Duty Supervisor is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily airport operations, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, and maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient environment for passengers, tenants, and staff at Ernest A. Love Field in Prescott, Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of airport operations staff, including airfield operations, security, and emergency response.
  • Monitor airfield conditions, including runway and taxiway inspections, wildlife management, and snow/ice removal as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 139 regulations, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Respond to airport emergencies, incidents, and irregular operations, including aircraft emergencies, security breaches, and weather-related disruptions.
  • Coordinate with airlines, tenants, and airport stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and resolve issues.
  • Oversee the implementation of airport safety and security programs, including training, drills, and audits.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of airport operations, including incident reports, inspection reports, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of airport policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
  • Participate in airport planning, capital improvement projects, and special events as needed.
  • Serve as the Airport Duty Officer (ADO) during assigned shifts, acting as the primary point of contact for airport-related issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in airport operations, airfield management, or a related field, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 139 regulations, TSA requirements, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations governing airport operations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an airport security badge (SIDA badge) upon hire.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications such as Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Operations or equivalent is a plus.

Special Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check, including criminal history and fingerprinting, as required by the TSA for SIDA badge eligibility.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in random drug and alcohol testing as required by federal regulations.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to respond to airport emergencies and irregular operations on short notice.
