Preschool Teacher (Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking an Early Childhood Professional to join our team at the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA in Westborough. The ideal candidate is a team player and leader committed to fostering a community of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans to support a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Supervises the children, classroom, Teacher Assistants, and all activities.
• Maintains care and safety of children.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child according to the required schedule.
• Conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
• Engages parents as volunteers.
• Maintains classroom and equipment.
• Maintains required program records including attendance, medical, and food service records.
• Posts schedule, curriculum, and menus according to regulation.
• Attends and participates in family nights, staff meetings, staff training, and YMCA special events.
• Performs additional duties as required and assigned by a supervisor to support the overall mission of the YMCA and to ensure the success of the Child Care Department.

Qualifications

• Maintains educational and experience qualifications established by DEEC, NAEYC, and QRIS.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Preferred associate degree or evidence of enrollment in a college degree program.
• Obtains and keeps current certification in CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities and curriculum.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Pay and Schedule

Pay: $20.50-$25.13/hr (based on education and experience) with a full benefit package to include, generous PTO, access to facilities, Medical, Dental, Disability, Life, Vision, & Pet Insurance, and ability to participate 403B Retirement Savings Plan.

New hires for Full-Time EEC teaching positions at Boroughs Family Branch YMCA will receive a $2,000 bonus which, $500 will be paid immediately upon hire, $500 upon completion of a 90-day review, and $1,000 at the 180-day mark.

Schedule: 40 hours weekly position. Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm.
