Preschool Teacher - Full time

About the role

The Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children aged 3-5 years old. They will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, ensuring the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of the children.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans and participate in unit study planning.
• Recognize and address individual and age-appropriate needs.
• Ensure a safe and organized learning environment.
• Record developmental progress and physical accidents.
• Attend staff meetings and workshops.
• Communicate with parents and conduct formal conferences.
• Display awareness of The Salvation Army's mission.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Early Childhood Education Training
• Current Physical & TB Clearance
• High School Diploma or Higher
• CPR & First Aid Certification Card – Infant/Toddler
• Current Finger Print & Criminal History Background Check
• PATCH Registry Certificate
• Minimum CDA Certification

• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.

• Manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively.
• Prioritize multiple work tasks to meet tight deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.

Skills/Technical Knowledge

• Valid Hawaii driver’s license (if needed)
• Travel off-island as necessary (if needed)
• Use office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, calculators, etc.
