About the role
Kamehameha Schools is hiring a Preschool Teacher for our Kapalama Preschool Region. This is a Regular, Full-time Lead Teaching position with competitive teacher salary & benefits.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.
- Bachelor’s degree from a nationally or internationally accredited college or university.
- Master’s or doctoral degrees in relevant fields preferred.
- Recent teaching experience, coursework, or activity in primary area(s) of instruction.
- 5 or more years of instruction in primary area(s) of instruction.
- Previous experience teaching the age levels and subject area(s).
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to social justice issues, global issues, sustainability, Hawaiian language, history, culture, and Christian values.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of subject area(s) and ability to develop interdisciplinary curriculum.
- Knowledge of instructional methods that are age appropriate for assigned grade levels.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with students and families within a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work with and encourage students in the assigned grade levels toward achieving their personalized educational goals.
- Ability to differentiate and personalize instruction to meet varying student needs.
- Manage small and large groups of students in various instructional environments.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, counselors, and school administrators.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and school administrators and collaborate as a team.
- Organize tasks and manage time to meet varied deadlines.
Skills
- Knowledge of current age-appropriate instructional strategies.
- Use of a variety of tools associated with the carpentry trade, including motorized lifts.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow safety instructions and correctly instruct others.
- Work at heights above 8 feet on ladders or motorized lifts.

Pay
Annual compensation ranges from $61,111.00 to $160,818.00.
Schedule
Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday during normal school/work hours, but evening and weekend hours may be required to meet goals and objectives.
