About the role
The Teacher promotes each child's development in a manner appropriate to their age and stage, with the ultimate goal of supporting social competence. This position affirms and respects parents as their child's primary teachers, maintaining productive relationships with families that reflect their values, interests, and concerns. The Teacher helps maintain accurate records, integrates all Head Start components, and fosters a safe, supportive environment that encourages individuality, self-esteem, and positive peer interactions.

- Assume responsibility for planning, safety, supervision, and adherence to all program requirements in the absence of the Lead Teacher
Requirements
- CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Candidates with 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field who are actively enrolled in a CDA or degree program may be considered
- At least 2 years of experience working with children
Qualifications
- Ability to pass required NYS physical exam
- Passing background check
- Meet licensing requirements
