Job Responsibilities
Faith Formation & Catholic Identity
- Model and promote Catholic values, prayer, and moral development in the classroom.
- Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and faith-based activities appropriate for preschool children.
- Collaborate with families to support each child’s faith formation.
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and implement daily lessons that support early literacy, numeracy, science, art, social-emotional development, and faith formation.
- Use play-based, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate activities to encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, interests, and learning styles of each child.
- Observe, document, and assess student progress to guide instruction and provide feedback to families.
Classroom Environment & Management
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that promotes independence, cooperation, and respect.
- Establish clear routines and positive behavior expectations grounded in Christian values.
- Maintain accurate records of student learning, attendance, and developmental progress.
Collaboration & Professionalism
- Work closely with assistant teachers, preschool colleagues, and administration to ensure a cohesive and effective early childhood program.
- Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, newsletters, and daily interactions.
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide activities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- State teaching certification and/or diocesan certification preferred.
- Experience teaching or working with preschool-aged children.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; commitment to modeling and supporting Catholic values required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Creativity, patience, and a passion for fostering the growth of young children.
- Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and required background checks.
