Preschool Teacher

About This Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching young children and be able to create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages learning and exploration.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement lesson plans that are age-appropriate and meet the needs of the students.
• Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents and administrators.
• Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
• Perform general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, and making phone calls.
• Perform housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, dish washing, and sanitizing toys and play equipment.
• Organize and store materials to ensure order in activity areas.
• Maintain a safe play environment, and a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of preschool teaching experience.
• High energy.
• Able to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Infant/child CPR, First Aid and Administration of Medication Certification (can be certified upon hire).
• OEC background check and all requirements of CT OEC.
• Familiarity with CT ELDS and DOTS.
