Preschool Teacher (25402)

Responsibilities

• Work with the Special Education teacher to plan daily and weekly activities designed to meet the individual needs of all children.
• Facilitate all initial screenings and ongoing assessments for assigned children.
• Track data for non-SED children in the classroom, including entering into the data system.
• Individualize curriculum for each child’s specific strengths and areas of need.
• Auxiliary in the provision of care for children which takes into account the educational, social, developmental, and health needs of the group, and the individual child.
• Provide a balance of open-ended exploration, teacher-guided inquiry, structured activities, and sensory-based play; foster children’s curiosity, engagement, reasoning, and problem-solving.
• Demonstrate effective classroom leadership skills by the ability to provide directions, work as a part of a team, and assuring the completion of records, attendance reports, and data collection.
• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
• Supervise and interact with children during family-style mealtimes, and during all activities.
• Supervise and assist children in toileting, hand washing, and dressing.
• Follow fire drills, shelter-in-place, intruder, or any emergency procedures to safely assist children as per protocols.

Requirements

• CDA (Child Development Associate Credential)
• Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Up to and including 6 months of experience
