About the role
Become a Spurwink Special Education Teacher and empower students with Autism and Developmental Disabilities by developing individualized learning plans in a therapeutic and supportive team environment. As a leader in the classroom, you will establish a culture of learning and respect while nurturing individual relationships with every student.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction
- Implement goals for Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
- Provide coaching and behavior management aligned with an integrated therapeutic model
- Create and maintain a classroom culture that supports the therapeutic model
- Provide oversight of Educational Technicians III assigned to your classroom
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282 Birth - 5 yrs) or eligibility for 282 certification
- Letter of eligibility for 282 certification required if less than professionally/provisionally certified
