Preschool Special Education Teacher (24125)

Responsibilities

• Follow Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations.
• Develop and implement a classroom instructional plan based on a student's IEP and Creative Curriculum Objectives.
• Create and implement Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for students.
• Ensure accommodations and modifications are provided and monitor student progress.
• Complete progress reports and IEP updates, and participate in CPSE meetings.
• Create and coordinate special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on individual students' needs.
• Develop and coordinate behavior plans for managing student behavior.
• Model and implement Pyramid Model principles to support social and emotional competence.
• Coordinate safety and well-being of students through established processes and procedures.
• Report incidents following school and agency procedures.
• Establish relationships with parents and family members.
• Work with other teachers, clinicians, administrators, medical staff, and other school staff to provide integrated support.

Requirements and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or subject area.
• NYS certification in Early Childhood Special Education Birth - 2nd grade, or enrollment in a program leading to certification.
