Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare all classroom materials prior to each service, including gathering supplies, uploading digital items, prepping crafts, organizing snacks, and unlocking classroom doors.
- Be ready to step into and lead any classroom when needed.
- Ensure that the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of each child are met.
- Adhere to all OSHA and Ministry Safe procedures and support volunteers in doing the same.
- Demonstrate a servant-hearted attitude toward the children and families served.
- Communicate important information clearly and promptly as needed.
- Recruit, train, and maintain strong relationships with volunteers.
- Arrive on time for all Children’s Ministry Programming as scheduled by the Children’s Pastor.
- Assist the Children’s Pastor in promoting the mission and vision of EMIC to volunteers, parents, and children.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
- Contribute to curriculum development and creative writing projects when requested.
Requirements
- Education: High School graduate or GED preferred.
- Experience: Previous and demonstrated childcare experience – minimum one year. Preferred children’s ministry experience.
- Skills / Abilities: Must be a member of EMIC, an active tither to EMIC, and support the leadership of EMIC. Must have the knowledge of the Word of God and be able to minister to children and adults. Must operate with pre-emptive thinking, must be discerning and able to make good judgment decisions with minimal supervision. Confidentiality and trustworthiness are required. Must have good communication skills. Must have effective interpersonal skills, to be courteous to a diverse group of people. Must be proficient in time management, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.
- Other: Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives. Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17; must not cause dissension, difficulties, and divisions. Must maintain a good attendance record. Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Equipment to be used: Typical equipment related to children’s ministry.
- Typical Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 40 pounds, flexible, and agile enough to function in a normal office and children’s ministry setting.
- Typical Mental Demands: Must be able to communicate professionally under stressful conditions related to children and parents.
- Working Conditions: Must work some evenings and/or weekends. Work schedules are developed monthly with some flexibility.
