About the role

The Early Learning Teacher provides direction for children in the classroom and implements the program curriculum. The role focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and fostering relationships among youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculm within established guidelines.
• Nurses children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and families.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including accommodations where appropriate.
• Follows all procedures and standards.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Cultivates positive relationships, maintains effective communication with parents.
• Maintains classroom, equipment and supplies.
• Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings & staff training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Mets licensing, educational and experience qualifications for Early Learning Teacher.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Certifications: Pedatric CPR & 1st Aid & Health Card, Child Abuse Prevention Training.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
