Job Summary

The Lawndale Elementary School District has 3 openings for Preschool Instructional Assistant. This position is a 10‑month position that accrues one paid vacation and sick day per month of employment. LESD provides a $1,000 per year career enrichment program for employees.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working with preschool‑age children.
• Proof of immunization/verification (Senate Bill 792) for Pertussis, Whooping Cough, Measles, and Influenza.
• Proof of tuberculosis clearance and a health screen report.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• TB clearance.
• High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• 12 units in Early Childhood Education (or AA degree in Early Childhood Education).
• Child Development Assistant Permit (per State Regulations).
• Pass an academic assessment test administered by LESD.
• Required documentation: Child Development Permit copy, transcript (12 units ECE or AA ECE), CPR/First Aid certification, driver’s license copy, health screening report, immunization verification, proof of high school graduation, and resume.

Schedule

• Carson School (40 hrs/wk, benefit‑eligible): Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
• Carson School (20 hrs/wk): Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am – 11:30 am
• B. Mitchell School (20 hrs/wk): Monday‑Friday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Schedule and location subject to change.

Pay

$21.50 – $27.42 per hour
