Responsibilities

No two days are exactly alike. One morning you may be helping a family connect with community resources. Later, you might be checking in with a parent, working alongside teachers, or celebrating a child's progress toward school readiness. As a Family Service Worker, you'll become a trusted partner for families by:

• Building positive relationships with parents and caregivers
• Visiting families in their homes and staying connected through phone calls and email
• Helping families identify goals and connect with community resources
• Encouraging parents as their child's first and most important teacher
• Working closely with teachers to support children's success
• Completing required documentation and maintaining accurate records
• Participating in training and professional development to continue growing your skills

Travel throughout the Centre County area is required. Mileage and travel time are reimbursed according to CenClear policy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Willingness to obtain Family Service Worker credentialing within 18 months of hire
• Experience working with children and adults preferred
• Knowledge of community resources preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work occasional evening hours to accommodate family schedules
• Required pre-employment clearances, including PA Criminal History, Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprinting, and Mandated Reporter training

Pay

$14.78/hour

Schedule

Full-time | 40 hours per week | 43 weeks per year
