Preschool Classroom Assistant 3rd Person

About the role

Our Preschool offers a supportive and engaging environment for both students and staff. As a Classroom Assistant 3rd Person, you will play a vital role in assisting the teacher with implementing child activities, setting up the classroom, and ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with children aged 3 to 5
• Work approximately 16.25 hours per week during the school-year days, following the school calendar
• Summer training sessions are also required
• Assist the teacher with implementing child activities
• Set up and maintain an organized classroom environment
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students
• Adhere to program regulations and guidelines
• Provide coverage as needed for other duties or positions

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Must be willing to obtain the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential if offered. This training is paid for by CenClear.

Qualifications

• Working phone in your home
• Documented good physical health
• Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire:
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History
• PA Child Abuse History
• FBI Criminal History
• Mandated Reporting Certificate

Skills

• Ability to lift and carry objects over fifty (50) pounds
• Ability to bend to a child's level and retrieve items from the floor
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time with reasonable breaks
• Ability to sit at child size tables
• Ability to participate in gross motor activities
• Ability to walk and stand for periods of over one hour
• Ability to hold children on their lap
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to operate kitchen appliances
• Ability to stoop to move objects
• Ability to use sweeper and other cleaning apparatus (push and pull)
• Ability to sit on the floor for over thirty minutes
• Ability to hold vision and hearing within normal limits
• Ability to hand wash and rinse dishes using chemical disinfectants
• Ability to clean various surfaces using chemical disinfectants
