Preschool Assistant Teacher – Head Start Classroom
About the role
Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson plans
Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
Maintain classroom documentation and records
Supervise children in classroom and outdoor settings
Auxiliary role includes assisting with transportation by driving or monitoring buses

Requirements
- Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver I: High School Diploma/ GED & Child Development Associate (CDA). Six months to one year of related experience preferred
- Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver II: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred. Six months to one year of related experience preferred
- EDU 119 required
- CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
- CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to actively supervise young children in classroom and outdoor environments, assist children on and off the bus, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certification
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field

Pay
Up to $18.50 per hour
Schedule
Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm (40 hours/week)
