Preschool Assistant
About the role
We are seeking a part-time Assistant to assist in a classical and Catholic Preschool classroom at our location in Mechanicsburg, PA for the 2026-2027 academic year. You do not need a teaching certification or formal teaching experience to apply; we will teach you everything you need to know. Regina Caeli Academy (www.rcahybrid.org) is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. The mission is to cooperate in the order of grace and subordinate all things to the principle of Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam through the Heart of Jesus, forming classically educated young men and women according to the Roman Catholic tradition, Ignatian Principles of Education, and the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preschool classroom.
- Prepare for classes at home.
- Follow and implement lesson plans.
- Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
- Maintain a highly structured environment.
- Complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training.
Requirements
- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching your own children, or teaching in a classical or private school (preferred but not required).
- Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and living the faith day‑to‑day, having received all sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, and a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
