Preschool Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a part-time Assistant to support a classical and Catholic Preschool classroom in Phoenix, AZ. The West Valley center serves families in central Phoenix and West Valley areas. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required; we will provide all necessary training.

A love for babies and toddlers is required. The ideal candidate may have experience in homeschooling, working with homeschool children, babysitting, caring for children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, or teaching in a classical or private school (though not required).

Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a classical and Catholic Preschool classroom.
• Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines.
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Maintain strong communication, organization, and timeliness.
• Uphold a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.

Requirements

• Deep love for the Catholic faith and living it day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life.
• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Timeliness and professionalism.
• Complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.

Schedule

• Mondays and Thursdays, 8:40 AM – 3:15 PM.
• No additional vacation days provided (accommodations made for sick days as needed).
