About the role
We are seeking a Part-Time Preschool Aide to support our Preschool Classroom in the Claysburg-Kimmel School District. Hours align with the school district schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Support the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students who require additional support or accommodations.
- Foster the social, emotional, and cognitive development of students through interactions and activities.
- Lead small group activities under the guidance of the lead teacher, providing targeted instruction based on individual needs.
- Assist in managing student behavior and promoting positive social interactions.
- Implement behavior management strategies in collaboration with the lead teacher.
- Prepare and organize learning materials, resources, and supplies for classroom activities.
- Set up learning centers and stations to support student engagement and exploration.
- Assist in conducting informal assessments and observations of students' progress and development.
- Document student progress and communicate findings to the lead teacher.
- Communicate with parents or caregivers regarding students' progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Provide information and resources to parents to support their involvement in their child's education.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students at all times.
- Follow health and safety protocols and procedures established by the program and the school.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education certification is a plus.
- 2 years or 2,500 hours of previous experience with children (e.g., volunteering, teaching, or related roles).
- Willingness to complete and pass required clearances and training, including mandated reporter training, a physical, and a TB test (typically completed within a week).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stopping for long periods throughout the day.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.

Pay
Pay ranges from $13+ per hour based on education and experience.
