Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate press-ready files based on supplied specifications; make changes as necessary to meet customer approval.
- Collaborate closely with prepress, customer service, production, and sales personnel about layout, design, and specifications.
- Utilize knowledge and understanding of prepress and printing capabilities of RLG equipment (flexographic and digital).
- Participate in prepress activities such as trapping, overprinting, remapping of colors, knockouts, bleeding, and color correction.
- Troubleshoot design and printing issues.
- Check overall quality of files and layout impositions; some proof reading and quality control (QC) are required.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of requirements, limitations and process as they pertain to printing and packaging.
- Follow product timelines to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0-3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated graphic design and typographic skills.
- In-depth knowledge of printing processes and software applications, including Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator) and MS Office.
- Preferred knowledge of printing, packaging, and digital and flexographic manufacturing operations.
- Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
- Strong analytical, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented.
